Bandon's beaches are just awesome! There are several viewpoints
and beach access points along the South Jetty and Beach Loop
Drive. When the weather turns windy, cold and cloudy, you can
retreat to your warmer and sunnier haven on the Coquille River.
These beaches are just a five minute drive from The Blue Heron
House. |
|
Just five minutes from The Blue Heron House is the Old Town
District of Bandon. Sample Bandon Cheese or Cranberry Sweet's
candies. Stroll the tourist shopping district. Launch your own
boat, book a charter fishing trip, or go crabbing. There are
several art galleries and gift shops within a five square block
district. |
|
Visit the West Coast Game Park about fifteen minutes south
of Bandon. Pet exotic game animals, learn about animal conservation
and walk with tame deer, goats, llama and other animals. See
lions, tigers, bears and many other animals, oh my! Call them
for directions at 541 347-3106. |

The road in front of the house is a designated scenic bike
route and winds along the edge of the river to the town of Coquille,
which is 17 miles east of The Blue Heron House. |
 |
A dock was just installed in front of the house on our nearly
half mile of private river front. You can launch kayaks and canoes
from our private dock. Launch your power boats from Rocky Point
river access, which is just one minute away. In season you can
fish right from the bank or our floating dock. Bring your own
boat or charter a kayak trip at Adventure Kayaks & Kites
on Bandon's waterfront. 541-347-3480. |

Wildlife abounds around The Blue Heron House. We have a spotting
scope for your viewing enjoyment, whether you are on the front
deck, sitting at the dining table or on the living room couch.
Osprey bring fish out of the river and perch on a tree over our
house. Hawks and buzzards soar on thermals over Randolph Island.
Raccoons come out of the woods behind the house and drink at
the river. |
